From May 1–15, join Move for Youth in support of United Way East Ontario and Centraide Outaouais. By participating in this free activity challenge, every step you take helps to raise awareness and support for the most vulnerable kids in your community.
Annual book fair
The event will have approximately 30,000 books (including an extensive vintage/very old book section for collectors), in very good condition, all very well categorized. All funds go to support local and national outreach programs.

Riley's 5KM Walk for Cancer Care
Riley’s Walk for Cancer Care is a 5KM walk designed to empower people of all ages to go the distance in the fight for Cancer Survivorship in the Ottawa region. Each participant sets a goal to raise a minimum of $100 and commits to walk the 5KM stretch through the streets of Barrhaven.

Registration for City March Break and Summer Camps opens
Camps are affordable and flexible and children are supervised by qualified staff in a safe and enriching environment. They are offered in English and French for children aged four to 14, both in-person and virtual.

Stop by the Ruth E. Dickinson branch of the Ottawa Public Library with a non-perishable food donation in support of the Barrhaven Food Cupboard.
Annual Christmas Celebration at City Hall
Celebrate the festive season in the fresh outdoors and visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus who will arrive from the North Pole and be housed in their very own outdoor cabin. Roast marshmallows around a campfire, enjoy horse-drawn wagon rides, hot chocolate, and ice skate on the Rink of Dreams.

LDHSS presents: Frankenstein
“What if man were unfinished?”. A question brilliant scientist Victor Frankenstein tries to answer when he creates a sentient being in a basement laboratory known as The Creature. As the narrative unfolds, The Creature grapples with its identity as it seeks understanding from society and redemption from its creator. Simultaneously, Victor must deal with the ethical consequences of playing God and abandoning his creation. John Hamam’s haunting and thought-provoking retelling of Mary Shelley’s classic, I am Frankenstein explores the mindscape of not only Victor and The Creature, but Mary herself.
