Ben Franklin Place – prolonged building closure

Facilities Operations Services continues to assess the extent of the water damages from the recent significant weather event. Water damages are localized to the lower-levels of the building, however the building systems have been substantially impacted and the facility must remain closed until they are reinstated.

At this point, it is expected that the building will remain closed next week, until Monday, July 13. An update will be provided on Wednesday, July 8 with more precise timelines.

There is bookable workspace capacity at Mary Pitt Centre (100 Constellation Dr), City Hall (110 Laurier Avenue W), Peter D. Clark Centre (255 Centrum Blvd) and the West Carleton Community Complex (5670 Carp Rd). The Workspace Booking Application can be used to view availability and book a workspace.

For support with meeting and collaboration space please contact OCHbookings@ottawa.ca for City Hall and CONbookings@ottawa.ca for Mary Pitt Centre.

Staff who require access to the building to retrieve work items or personal belongings that are not in the main impacted areas can contact the Facility Service Desk at FacilityServiceRequests@ottawa.ca or 613-580-2424 ext: 29999. Please provide the date and time for the retrieval with the service request, and arrive at the main front doors to the building to meet facility staff at your scheduled time. Unfortunately, the lower levels of the building remain inaccessible until further notice.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
