The JA Company program teaches high school students how to organize and operate a real business.

Volunteers from the local business community work with the students to launch and run a small enterprise. This gives students the real-world skills and experience that they need to fulfill their potential.  

In just 15 weeks, students create, produce, market, sell and dissolve their companies, learning about business, our community, teamwork, problem solving, leadership and many other soft skills that will serve them well in the future. 

This spring, JA Ottawa is thrilled to be joining forces with the Nepean Day Market again, so you can explore offerings from our talented youth entrepreneurs alongside a range of local professional vendors. It’s a fantastic opportunity to support both youth and local businesses! 

Some of our student companies may only be accepting cash. You may want to bring some along just in case. 

Companies include students from Barrhaven’s very own St Mother Teresa Catholic High School.
