🔦In the Spotlight - Author Talk : Celebrate Black History Month with OPL  

Join author André Alexis, author of Fifteen Dogs, as we celebrate the 30th year of Black History Month in Canada.

📖Upcoming Events 

  • Employment Support - February 6, 10:30 am – 12:30 am: Are you looking for work? Unemployed or underemployed? Drop-in to meet one-on-one with an Employment Counsellor from the Pinecrest-Queensway Employment Services team.  

  • 🥇Winter Olympic Watch Party - Join us for a special screening of the Winter Olympic Games! Drop in to cheer on Team Canada this weekend in a welcoming community space.  

    • Friday, February 6, 1:30-5 pm: Opening ceremony

    • Sunday, February 8, 1:30-5 pm: Figure skating: Team event  

  • Library POP-UP: eReading - February 7, 10 am –12 pm: Bring your device and get support setting up the apps you need for accessing eBooks, downloadable audiobooks, magazines, comics, movies, TV shows and even streaming music. Don't forget to bring your device and your library card.  

  • Mo Willems Birthday Bash | Fête d'anniversaire de Mo Willems - February 7, 10:30 am: Join us for a birthday bash for beloved author-illustrator Mo Willems! We will read a story, play Bingo, and do crafts with Biggie, Elephant, Pigeon, and more!

  • Dickinson Reads Book Club - February 11, 10 am: Join Dickinson Reads Book Club monthly on Wednesday mornings.  This month's title: The War We Won Apart by Nahlah Ayed 

  • Barrhaven Builder’s Club - February 13, 1 pm: This PD DAY, build, construct, engineer, and design using Lego, Meccano, K'nex, VEX Robotics, and more at the library. 

  • Family Storytime & Valentine's Day Makerspace - February 14, 10:30 am: Join families from the community for a Valentine's Day celebration! Stories and songs followed by fun Valentine's crafts. 

  • Tales As Old as Time - Historical Fiction Book Club - February 14, 2 pm: Come and share your thoughts or just listen in and enjoy the conversation. This month we will be discussing: Lessons in Chemistry By Garmus, Bonnie
